Meet The Team Behind The Machine  #TeamVinny

Vinny brings artisan snacks and a cheeky smile to spaces and homes through quirky vending machines and snack boxes.

Founders, Matt and Isla saw a future where vegan-friendly snacks didn’t have to be so boring and bad for you. They’ve made it their mission to bring some colour, excitement and nutrition to world of snacks and drinks making vegan, health conscious snack brands accessible to like-minded people.

 Our first Q&A to meet the team behind the machine is with Co-Founder of Vinny, podcast addict and animal lover, Isla!

How did the idea for Vinny come about?

Matt and I were waiting for a delayed flight at an airport in France and the only snack options was food from an old, ugly vending machine without Vegan options- we couldn’t eat anything! This was the very moment we discovered there was a gap in the market sparked through hunger & frustration!

Why Vegan-only snacks?

Vegan food is the most inclusive variation of food as everyone can eat it and enjoy it, you don’t have to be Vegan. We created Vinny as a solution for us and people like us, so there was never an option for it not to be Vegan. Vegan snacks are also produced in a more sustainable way and we want our business to to have a positive impact on the environment. Vinny is basically us in a vending machine!

What was your biggest inspiration for Vinny?

The most inspiring thing about starting Vinny was that there wasn’t anything already out there like this! This was huge incentive for us. I also have a background in food in drink, having worked previously for a disruptive healthy food brand, now a household name – this inspired me and gave me a headstart!

Where do you see Vinny in 10 years?

EVERYWHERE! We want Vinny to be the face of plant-based, accessible food!

Dream product to go inside Vinny?

 We’ve been so lucky with incredible, forthcoming brands, we’ve got all of our dream products, so now we’re focusing more on dream locations!

 What do you look for when sourcing brands to work with?

Taste is obviously a huge thing. We want Vinny and the boxes to be filled with the most delicious Vegan products. As a team we’re really keen on products which are well branded. Stand out, cool branding is what we really go for, I’m such a visual person and Matt’s a graphic designer by trade, so obviously this is a massive selling point for us.

Do you have plans for Vinny to go international?

We would love to! We’d love to be throughout Europe. After London our next focus is to hit the big cities such as Manchester, Edinburgh and Bristol – we can really envision this.  We also have plans to explode in the travel sector, train stations, airports and student accommodations. 

Best thing about the Vinny Team?

I love working alongside like-minded people and individuals who believe in Vinny’s success as much as me. And of course working with Matt everyday is great!
